Thank you to all my friends
August 24, 2012 at 7:03 pm
I don't want to get too maudlin about this, particularly since this section is meant for "light hearted discussion". I just wanted to take the opportunity to shake the hands or peck the cheek as appropriate of everyone who has extended the offer of support to me, not just in the past couple of days but the entire time I've been here. I do get over-emotional from time to time and perhaps it comes out rather more combative than it ought to. Sometimes I wonder how you lot put up with me!
That's pretty much all I wanted to say. Buy yourself a shot of whatever hits the spot for you, from me by way of thanks.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Bitter - good man! Not Banks's, by any chance? That'd be too much to hope for!
* Stimbo raises a foaming pint of bitter in response.

No, nothing special like that; just felt like thanking all my friends here for giving me shoulders to cry on and ears to bend. Enjoy your wine, my friend!

Nope, unfortunately the nearby shops don't carry much but local stuff, which is passable enough - though most of the local brewers focus on regional styles. I'm partial to UK beers, particularly strong ales, but I'm in the minority.
I've got to run 15 miles into Portland to get my fix of proper English and Scottish beers. I'm not sure if they carry Bank's, but I'll keep my eye open. They do have a fair selection of UK stuff, in bottles and cans, errrr, I mean tins.

^What Zen said.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
