It is really irrelevant whether the reference to throwing a mountain into the sea is metaphor or not. Obviously, the point he was trying to make is that if you believe, you can do the impossible.
Now, any sane person should be able to recognize that Jesus was nuts to believe and preach such crap. The reality is that faith just doesn't work that way no matter how much faith you have.

And I think it takes a nut to worship a nut.

So, the only real miracle of Christianity is how anyone could believe such shit.

I think of the Pope as a pretty mediocre Christian, if that. He's certainly no big shake in the Christian world, outside of his sect.
