Please Explain to a Newly Inducted "Old Fart"

Not funny at all - your thread inspired it.
I saved it - I just responded to your other thread, and I'm in the middle of writing a blog post myself for photography stuff. I'll poke around in a bit.
Don't worry Summer. You wont officially be an old fart until your hipster friends are those who are worried about or already had a hip replacement...
Save a life. Adopt a greyhound.

Maybe you can give viewers the power to give you.... Suggestions? Assignments? I can't think of the particular term I want, but I hope you understand. I'm excited for you to get your own DSLR. 'Hipsters' don't exist.
Emo originated as a type of music. Scene originated as a type of fashion. (November 1, 2012 at 11:41 am)Gilgamesh Wrote: 'Hipsters' don't exist. My time studying art at college says very differently. Right now I'm starting just by saying how *I* got started and what I do on a limited budget and how I get around obstacles, as I obviously can't be the only person who is out there looking to do this and can't afford shit. Today marks day 1 of a 30 day photo challenge for me, which I will post the results of in December. Eventually the blog will also detail research, improvements, explorations, and other stuff. I may eventually do what you said. Suggestions are always helpful, of course. It stems from the need to document stuff - my IB art class in high school was incredibly into that with what amounted to a visual journal. David basically dumped his entire camera set up, with the exception of his 40lb tripod which I refused, on me. I have a Canon dslr and a film slr at my disposal now, and 4 different lenses. He's going to let me fuck with the dslr by myself, and give me hands-on lessons with the slr, as that's the one with the macro lens. |
