A Beautiful Moon Shot

A Beautiful Moon Shot
[Image: Moon_10_4_2011e.jpg]

This is a remix of a Moon shot I took on October 4, 2011. I used a hydrogen alpha filter in order to reduce the glare and the tendency of the impact rays and young craters to over expose. I think this one is particularly good, very sharp, with even lighting. Lots of detail.

Enjoy,

"In short, Meyer has shown that his first disastrous book was not a fluke: he is capable of going into any field in which he has no training or research experience and botching it just as badly as he did molecular biology. As I've written before, if you are a complete amateur and don't understand a subject, don't demonstrate the Dunning-Kruger effect by writing a book about it and proving your ignorance to everyone else! Had this been posted by anyone else, I'd have been very wary of exactly what sort of "Moon Shot" I'd be in danger of seeing. As it is, I'm glad I didn't miss out on such a glorious picture. Magnificent desolation! You clearly appreciate that the Moon's phases bring out the best in the surface detail; though a full Moon is best for showing off the ray craters, it tends to give a flat appearance to the rest of the satellite. Those shadows really bring it to life.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I love this. Compared to the universe, god is such a simplistic explanation.
