You realize it's not all that uncommon for innocent people to be found guilty in court? Sometimes they are dead before they are given a "not-guilty" status. Even after decades of appeals it was still missed.

How about cases with an Alford plea? Kill them too?

That is a statement made from complete and utter ignorance.

I have had the occasion to know a number of convicted sex offenders. By and large, they are average people who have made some bad choices and done some bad things. THIS DOES NOT MAKE THEM BAD PEOPLE.

Do I condone their actions? Not even remotely. They have done bad things and should be punished accordingly. However, they should no more be generically executed than any other criminal. Belief otherwise is simply sensationalism.

Lets look at a few other crimes:

Drug dealers have a wide ranging effect on our society from healthcare and enforcement costs to broken families, increased crime and destroyed lives.

In the not-to-distant past, homosexuality was a crime. Do you advocate the killing of homosexuals for engaging in homosexual acts?

White collar crime alá Bernie Madoff. He stole MILLIONS and destroyed the lives of numerous people. Should he be executed?

I think you should do some research. Saying a certain class of crimes deserves default execution while completely ignoring the effects of other types of crimes is simply parroting what you are fed by the media.

Get you facts straight before spouting your ignorant, fear-inducing opinions. Better yet, go talk to a few convicted sex offenders. You will find they are no different than you.

It' been known to take decades, yes, and of course we've executed innocent people (whose innocence has been made very plain) on the grounds that they were found guilty by a jury of their peers. So...yeah, if we're dead-set on executing people.....no amount of time is enough time. Said it before, I'll say it again. Execution is something which, once done, cannot be undone.

You assumed their guilt in the statement. They were found carrying a dismembered body which had been raped. Whether or not they did the raping, murdering, and dismembering is what must be established and cannot simply be taken for granted. To be fair, it wouldn't look very good for the accused. In compromise, if we're going t do anything quite so permanent as castration or execution for this or that then I would demand more than the consensus of a jury of ones peers to be the justification for it. Even then, I'd suspect the system to be open -somewhere- to fraud and manipulation -given enough power or authority- one could still be railroaded.
