What's your alignment?
RE: What's your alignment?
One of the questions was about modern art. Interesting one, I had thought about the relationship between aesthetics and political philosophy, I did not think that would actually find its way into the criteria of defining where you are on the political spectrum though.

I've taken similar tests in the past, this one places me more left of center than previous ones.

Here's an alternate test with a lot more variation in the answers you can provide and applies a somewhat more precise label to your ideological beliefs: http://www.quiz2d.com/quiz/

My unsurprising result:

Hmm, interesting. Apparently I'm going to die by drowning at the age of 87, while attempting the world record for orally pleasuring young Hollywood starlets on my yacht at a California resort. I've a sneaking suspicion I may just have taken the wrong test.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

You didn't. You're definitely a liberal.

If he was alive today, I would vote for Barry Goldwater. Mostly a libertarian, but I make certain exceptions for public goods like building codes. I make a sharp distinction between human rights and civil rights. Here are some of my basic ideas:

"General Welfare" means everyone benefits directly and not just some. Road and bridges are general welfare. Public education is general welfare. I oppose socialized medicine for pragmatic reasons and not on principle - since everyone gets it, it falls under general welfare, but I'm not convinced turning anything over to be run by the government is a good.
Flat tax on individuals, no deductions, none. No tax shelters, no credits. You make it you pay it.
Generally open borders...work is a human right regardless of citizenship.
Access to the social safety net is a civil right reserved for citizens.
Justice is a human right. Trial by jury is a civil right. Non-citizens get trial by judge.
