So, out of random curiosity, I was wondering where everyone's political affiliations tend to lie. And I don't mean American political affiliations, I mean just in general as far as government management and social influence goes. For example, I am a cultural progressive socialist/garden-variety liberal and a managerial libertarian. I think that governments should work only to provide for their citizens, rather than tell them what they can or cannot do based on just sweeping generalizations and that cultural dominance should not be by force but through economic influence. There is no more lethal a weapon than the one that incinerates your opponent's resources, and in today's world, that doesn't have to be taken literally. Not saying uniforms are worthless or unnecessary, just obsolete when focusing on the larger picture; inefficient. But that's just me, what 'bout you guys?

Socialist, born and bred.
(This is a great idea. Talking politics is an excellent way to lose friends and alienate people!)
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
Well I'm hoping people can maintain some level of a level-head. A far cry but eh.
I find myself agreeing most with socialist ideologies, though I don't subscribe to all of them.
Protest through non-participation..lol.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
I would say pragmatist.
I vote for those who are the best, meaning - who make the best and most realistic promisses or who have done the best work. Yet I have a principle that my vote is never given to someone homophobic, racist or sexist. Or to someone who has something authoritarian to his or her style. RE: What's your alignment?

I represent myself as apolitical, though that may be an exaggeration. I don't spend time knowing politics and the world, so I don't consider myself politically informed. All the same, many times I'll open my mouth, and stuff comes out. And if a political danger presents itself, I may act or speak up. The last presidential election, a state marriage amendment was on the ballot, so I dragged myself out and waited three hours in line to vote, when I'd normally have stayed home. (I live in an overwhelmingly blue state.) So I guess blue suits me, though I decide issues less along party lines or grand political theories than simply "what appears right" at the time. (Thus people have found me defending the rights, actions, and policies of conservatives and republicans at times on this forum.) I'm a philosopher and a Taoist. Politics just isn't my domain.
May not be your domain but that's a pretty effective stance to take on the matter all the same. People often think that you HAVE to vote along party lines or get rabid in politics to have a stance but...that's not really true. Not every matter in the political landscape really means something to everyone. I sure dont' really pay attention to City Council stuff unless it's something particularly irksome, not because I dismiss the City Council as being a waste of time but rather because that which they handle they handle well enough it seems and if they don't, and they do something that annoys me, I can always go and bitch at them in person. Or run for councilman myself.
Chaotic good.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
I really don't know.

I don't know how I would label myself, but 'democratic socialist' is probably somewhere in the neighborhood.
