I read some bats also have a language (some letters and make some words and sentences with them). And that they "sing".
Where'd you read that?
Well bats are suddenly more awesome.

I'll have to check that out. Next to octopuses and frogs, bats are one of my favorite animals.

Talks about how some even know earthquakes are coming and others know by them. It also talks about insects and their inner sexual lives, which is fascinating as well. It's one of the funnest books I've read. 
One should aways be careful about ascribing human motives to animal behavior. When dogs sniff each others butts are they performing analingus? Maybe bat twat just tastes yummy. (Oooo...I just creeped myself out.)

True though, ascribing some human motive to a non-human creature is difficult - at the same time, it's just as potentially giggleworthy to invest human behavior with some sort of significance that separates it from any other creature purely by virtue of it being a human doing the deed.

The authors in the book I read said the same but also said it was important to understand our origins in our nature via the inner lives of animals. They are neurologists. |
