It appears to be a titanium ring. Not too expensive. Usually around $35-$50.

Could be, but it looks a little darker than the titanium rings I've seen. If it is a titanium ring, no one's going to be losing any sleep over it, unless it has some sort of sentimental value.

It looks like a Hawk's Eye ring I had a while back..

It looks mechanical. Like one of those "wobble" connectors/holders used for the bar that changes the chute direction on a snowblower.
If it is worn on one side like it looks in your first pick, then I'd be 99.99% sure that is what it is. In which case it's junk and praise Jesus! that you found it.
