Look at pictures of the murderer and his victim [I'm not calling Zimmerman anything other than that because that is exactly what this guy is, a murderer.] and tell me you think he really was justified in shooting someone who was unarmed because he felt his life was in danger by a scrawny black teenage pothead. Yes. Go ahead and tell me that, with a straight face.

This is what my original point was. People either ignore evidence surrounding the case, or they choose not to look at evidence that contradicts their initial opinion.

Size also isn't an indicator of strength, nor is age. From other photos of Zimmerman, it appears the guy is physically out of shape. Sorry, but if you aren't strong and are out of shape, you can easily be overpowered by someone smaller than you, especially if you are knocked to the ground and the attacker is on top of you.

...also keep in mind that Zimmerman was much thinner at the time of the incident...Zimmerman was 5'8 tall and weighed a pudgy 194 lbs at the time...Tayvon Matin towered over Zimmerman at nearly 6 feet tall at 160 lbs...during the trial Zimmerman's MMA trainer said that on a scale from 1 to 10 that Zimmerman's athletic ability rated a 1...keep in mind that Zimmerman gained 100 lbs since last year...

Personally, I have a split mind on whether details about cases should be disclosed to the public.

On the one hand, you have the point about government transparency. On the other, you have the fact that even when people are found to be not guilty, their lives are ruined because the public have been turned against them. In some situations, you have people who were merely suspects (and never formerly charged) being condemned by the press.

So, nothing particularly new in America. Whitey killed blackie and got away with it.

He's only half Whitey. The other half is Hispanicy...regardless of the verdict, you guys want so much to lynch a white guy even though he was found innocent by a jury and proven in court that he was only defending himself from being pummeled to death by a black teen....too bad you're not just as concerned about the high rate of black on black violence which basically gets ignored...

The justice system is imperfect. Bad people get away with murder all the time and innocent people are often found guilty of acts they never committed. Just because a court jury finds him "not guilty" does not mean he is actually innocent.

Sure, the justice system isn't perfect, but in this instance the justice system worked. He was not innocent of shooting Trayvon Martin...But he was not guilty 2nd degree murder and he was not guilty of manslaughter. The jury found that the evidence supported the defense's contention that Zimmerman acted in self defense to prevent himself from being pummeled to death by Trayvon Martin.
