So, forgive the delay on my response to your 80s plights, my computer is retarded. Also, please don't take what I say personal, I'm just being honest!
Okay, yeah, I did like weird Al Yankovich and yes I can still sing star trekkin by heart. But the 80s don't get to claim him exclusively, do they?
Chariots of Fire was a good background song for Top Gun wasn't it? Was it Top Gun? So, soooo long ago I have trouble remembering with my young mind! Forgive
I'll hand it to Guns N Roses for mixing rock and orchestra.
Final Countdown is an epitamy of exactly why I hate 80s music. The electronic sounds
are painful to hear, and the vocals are just off the wall goofy to the point that I cringe and sorta want to jump off an unfinished skyscraper.
I guess I'd say I'm more an 80s movie buff than anything.. Eye of the Tiger was definitely one of the most epically
awesome movie songs ever, for Rocky. But I wouldn't just listen to the song alone, nope.
Chicago's song you put forth is an example (for me, mind you) of how the 70s and 60s were ruined
by lovey dovey geekouts and stereotypical bass beat. Same to be said for Men at Work Down under.
Coulda been COOL, but---Nope!
The Police: Every breath you take. Embodiment of what I'm talking about. To a T.
Sorry
Cindy Lauper Time after Time? I think I threw up in my mouth a lil.
I don't even know what to say about Stevie Wonder, for real?
Okay I actually like Like a Virgin. For a minute. For one round of the chorus. ONE, I tell you, ONE! And only because it's about sex.
USA FOR AFRICA???? *gag me
Whitney Houstons voice is timeless, but those electric pianos are just not. Nor are the chimes.
Peter Cetera is a dork, sorry.
Berlin: Take my Breath away: I ADORE this song. Whatever they did with what they were working with: they did it Right. Actually, I'm putting it in my cellphone playlist. Don't judge me.
Don't worry be happy? Bob Marley was always good, even through the 80s.
Rick Astley.. Oh my Oh dear, how I wish I hadn't seen that.
Sure, Pocaracas, you stirred up some good moments for me. Thank you
Mostly you made me realize I'm right in my opinion of the 80s music though.
KAYENNEH, Okay you win, I'd never heard, and I like. But it took them entire decades to get to the right sound, to go along with the right attitude? Ouch.
CleanshavenJesus Wrote:Jesus Christ pocaracas, we're supposed to make him think 80s music was good.
I'm a girl, first of all. Just in case you didn't know
Secondly, FUCK YEAH! FFuuccckkk yeahhhhhhh. I think you found the best the 80s had to offer in the bands themselves, but the particular songs you put forth--eh.
That said, that Metallica album came out the year I was born but I totally woulda partied with you, sir.
AC/DC.. I didn't like the examples you gave. I don't like being screamed at.
Queen, yes.
Motley Crue, yes. Reminds me of Waynes World for some reason..
Dearest Faith No More:
Nine Inch Nails.. got any more examples? That's a maybe.
Depeche Mode worked well as movie background clips. But for the most part, I think it's pretty self absorbed
to do an entire song making me wait for a badass instrumental chorus or something, but then all I get is a voice, hanging on every word, the entire time.

I'm not gonna comment cuz your name is the name of the band and I don't wanna piss you off
fr0d0 Wrote:1970+ was the 60's badly replicated
Me and the Eagles Disagree. Although the 60s
were epic
