When every other ploy has failed, every other cheap deception shreded, every other attempt to entice with appeal to the basest intellectual dishonesty called for what it is, the christain baffoon, not just this one but almost every other, will reliably thrown out the final smoke screen and proclaim himself to be motivated by nothing but purity, patriotism, and piousnes,s and therefore all the fact denial, intellectual dishonesty and hucksterish appeals don't signify. But when a short amount of time has lapsed, he will undoubtedly start from the beginning again and trot out the same sequence of ploys, deceptions, and appeal to intellectual dishonesty, in the hopes of leading you on the same contemptible charade yet again. But it also can mean indigious defensive fighter, or Irael defense force. Let me point the fact out to you again that the walls and roads are made of concrete. How many forward operating/fire bases you've been on with solid concrete walls, and roads? There is a reason FOB's are not typically constructed out of concrete. IDF's are apart of that reason. The following is a link to how our FOB's are constructed. Another nail in the coffin of that pic is the road they are standing next to it is also concrete, which is against the standard MO for a FOB. Fob's are to have gravel, earthen or even asphalt roads, Not concrete. Again Concrete frags when hit when causes a greater damage than the shell it self would. So evidently if they are standing in a place with painted concrete walls with concrete roads the Army is pretty sure they are not in Harm's way. Which is what my problem is with that pic. They are saying they are in Harm's way (Per the actual definition of a Fox Hole) when they are in a safe place. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&...tBpc8fN8iQ (August 28, 2013 at 1:30 pm)Drich Wrote:(August 28, 2013 at 1:01 pm)BadWriterSparty Wrote: Drich has no idea what an IDF attack is then. So you're jumping to the conclusion that because the soldiers aren't literally under fire as they pose for the picture that they have not served in a forward operating base and have not fought? That doesn't follow. They could be combat troops on a much needed break from their FOB. You don't know the situation. My brother -- a confirmed atheist in a foxhole -- served one tour in Afghanistan with the 10th Mountain Division and two in Iraq with the 1st Stryker Brigade out of Fort Wainwright. He was awarded his CIB while fighting in the mountains of Afghanistan and still amazingly found time to pose for pictures with buddies during times when his outfit was pulled off the fighting lines and allowed to rest up in safer positions toward the rear. The tired, old "no atheists in foxholes" slogan that believers pathetically cling to is not true, though I recognize that belief not conforming to reality is not usually a stumbling block for Christians. (August 28, 2013 at 1:14 pm)Texas Sailor Wrote: Drich...Which God do the Zen-Buddhists pray to??? My mother was a Buddhist. Buddhist worship the path of the 'awakened one.' To walk this path and to acheave this 'wakened' state elevates one to an enlightened sense of being, which trancends all of the 'dukkha/pain and suffering' the ignorant suffer from. To acheave this zen elevates these transcended believers to a state of nirvana. From this state some believe one can reach the ultimate state as a budda has and can be 'reborn' and keep coming back in higher states of existence. The end goal for the Buddhist is 'buddahood.' In essence Buddhism is a form of self worship that elevates it's believer too a FORM of godhood. So the Buddist worships the path to enlightment, which deifies the indivisual to a degree. To be a Buddhist, and to fight in a war would destroy everything they believed in (That is why so many of them set themselves on fire rather than fight in a war.) For those who fought, and caused suffering and pain knew they could never have the hope to obtain a true state of Zen, thus pushing them to seek other religions, or to simply try and start over. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhism http://nichirenbuddhist.org/LearnBuddhis...k/ch2.html (August 28, 2013 at 1:52 pm)Crossless1 Wrote:(August 28, 2013 at 1:30 pm)Drich Wrote: I am assuming you mean indirect fire, as in a mortar attack, or even a ricochet. I actually hate that, that is why I am going to tell you to go back and re read what has already been written if you want an answer to your question. Seriously, that was a picture of soldiers, not people playing at being soldiers for a day. They go where they're ordered and they don't get to come home until they're allowed. I was asked by a man who I met in passing once before (who owned an ice company I was servicing) could I manage my own company if given the oppertunity. I said yes, then the guy asked me could I pay him back if he gave me a loan? I said yes. The next day 3rd time I ever met the guy he wrote me a check. I paid him back with in a year. Do you have a picture that actually shows you getting the loan from this person? You set the bar for what we should take people's word for, and this little story doesn't even come close to the standard you've set for us. Army, from marines. marines from navy, navy from Air Force, and national guardsmen from just about everyone else. If you are truly military you know what I am talking about, and you know there has been a lot of infighting about who does what and how the military would come to a grinding halt and millions of people would die if not for their job/branch. Again not what is being discussed. Sure, I made fun of marines when I was enlisted. My favorite joke about them was: How do you knock out a Marine? Throw a handful of sand at a brick wall and yell 'hit the beach!'. That doesn't mean it's okay for YOU to call them names. If you were truly military, you know what I'm talking about. (August 27, 2013 at 11:59 pm)Drich Wrote: What is being discussed are the posers who take pics behind tall concrete walls obviously in a rearward operations base, and repersent themselves are being troops under fire. What are your qualifications for making that assessment? Photo recon was one of my specialties and I can't get all that from the photo. And you know what one of the things the army does in the middle east? Go on patrol you fucking moron. Where they're at the moment the photo was taken tells you nothing about their combat experience. (August 27, 2013 at 11:59 pm)Drich Wrote: If it is meant as a joke then that's fine, that is between them and the members of their platoon. If not and they were saying that they were combat troops when they were not, anyone who has anything to do with this country should take offense to that. Because these men are pretending to be something they are not. You're pretending to know they are pretending to be something they're not and that is something you cannot know. Or do you have the proof I was looking for? Oh, that's right you only need proof for all things God. You are willing to believe any possibility out there that says there is no God or that a particular person hated God on blind faith alone. It's his opinion. Not that you can tell the difference between a claim that you need evidence before it's reasonable to believe it and someone spouting off their feelings. |
