Lanarkshire parents' outrage at creationist cult preying on primary pupils

Quote:The Church of Christ have targeted Kirktonholme as a “mission” and have several members helping with classes and giving lessons in religion.
Church members like Blakeman – photographed as a scary Pirates of the Caribbean character – were allowed in to work as classroom assistants and help with homework and in other mainstream roles.
Parents were also furious to learn that cash raised by children which they thought was intended for school funds had been given to the sect to build a church nearby.
One of the church members, Evelyn Galvan Graciano, 22, from Mexico, describes Scotland as “a place full of darkness and emptiness that is in a big need of Jesus”.
And she has told pals she uses classes to get into the heads of Kirktonholme pupils. She said: “They all are very receptive and willing to listen and learn.
“Hopefully at least we can let the kids know who Jesus is. Maybe someday that seed we’ve planted can be grown by God.”
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Having spent time in both Edinburgh and Aberdeen, I can say without fear of contradiction that if there is a Jesus-shortage in Scotland, they're hiding it pretty well.
Seriously, though, hats off to the parents trying hard to get these loonies evicted from the school. Nice to see responsible people standing up.

An update:
The headteacher and her deputy are being removed and replaced while South Lanarkshire Council carries out an investigation. They want to know "why the Church of Christ sect had been allowed into the school to work as classroom assistants for the last eight years."
The Council also issued a statement about the incident and assuring parents that they intend to make sure that the primary school actually focusses on things such as actually teaching children, instead of acting as a platform for indoctrinating them into an insane cult.

Oh man, if my kids were in that school I'd find those people and beat the shit out of them. How fucking dare they abuse other people's children. Awful, awful cunts.

This is why Christians here in the US want prayer back in schools. It's not about getting their own kids to pray, presuming that they're "good Christians" they'll pray on their own, but about getting Christianity forced upon all those other heathen children.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Is it a coincidence that 'pray' and 'prey' are so similar? Probably, but other than linguistically the intent is exactly the same.
