What Took Jesus So Long?

The Buddha wasn't divine, dillhole. Buddhist 'gods' are deluded beings trapped in Samara. Equating, or mostly equating, Christianity with Buddhism kinda defeats the popular appeal of god boy.

I don't believe Jesus was literally God in that sense he was one with God or the Son of God and I wouldn't worship Jesus. But the Christians who initially believed Jesus to be literally physically God were the Docetists and they were considered heretics at the time. Modern forms of Christianity are closer to a form of Docetism only giving Jesus a physical human body. It's this three Gods in one business I don't agree with. I'm in agreement with the Jews and Muslims on that one there is one God he is infinite and non-divisible. There are not three different gods in a community with Jesus being one of them that's a pure fabrication.

So you're a wannabe Jew. An omni-god has no place in Buddhism, but I guess you were comparing teachers, so I can(remotely) follow your thinking now.

Is there such a thing as 2 Christians that actually agree on their own religion?

Maybe he was dreading death because he didn't know if NDE's were real or just a phenomenon of the brain

NEVER compare Jesus to Buddha. Buddha NEVER said "Believe in me or I'll throw you in fucking Hell!" Jesus had almost no philosophy, just rules. Buddha had little to do with the supernatural. He focused more on personal growth, rather than obedience. And I never prayed to him for favors, like a Christian does to God. I meditate, and find the answers on my own. THAT is growth as a person, not sitting around waiting for a supreme being to help me out.

If you want a comparison, read this thread (which I'm sure you'll say is BS, since you're quite predictable):

"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”

Jesus didn't bring a philosophy but the fullness of God and the eternal salvation of the human race. But there are paralles between what Jesus taught and Buddhist philosophy and if these "rules" were actually applied by everyone then we would discover the kingdom of heaven right here on Earth right now, it would be a Utopia. But I am a strict monotheist so you can't have literal trinity of beings in my own view, but I'm happy to take metaphorically or mystically.

Could you please tell me one of these parallels? I already know the "focus on the present" quote, which I talk about in my thread. Any others?

As for eternal salvation, going by the Bible's rules, almost 2/3 of the world is doomed to eternal punishment. Does thst sound reasonable to you? And how did Jesus fullfil anything, considering that the Jews were slaughtered by the Romans just a few decades later, and war has been a constant factor of human existence both before and after the existence of Jesus? The "Son of God's" death changed NOTHING.

Quote:It could be they got a few details of the Messiah right and few details wrong. They did make a number of failed prophecies but when it comes to Jesus they made a good number of hits. Certainly he fits with the prophesy of the suffering Messiah and he did bring the Pagans and Gentiles to the Jewish God.

Wrong. Stop telling jews how to be jews. You have more than enough trouble with your xtian gibberish.

http://www.jewfaq.org/mashiach.htm

Quote:What Will the Mashiach Do?

Before the time of the mashiach, there shall be war and suffering (Ezekiel 38:16)

The mashiach will bring about the political and spiritual redemption of the Jewish people by bringing us back to Israel and restoring Jerusalem (Isaiah 11:11-12; Jeremiah 23:8; 30:3; Hosea 3:4-5).

He will establish a government in Israel that will be the center of all world government, both for Jews and gentiles (Isaiah 2:2-4; 11:10; 42:1).

He will rebuild the Temple and re-establish its worship (Jeremiah 33:18).

He will restore the religious court system of Israel and establish Jewish law as the law of the land (Jeremiah 33:15).

So jesus went oh-for-four - like a weak hitting ballplayer. Oddly, when you clowns set your story the temple was already in existence which means he could not have "re-built" it.

Just a little oversight, there.
