Poll: Regarding the Book of Revelations found in the Bible ....
This poll is closed.
I believe that Revelations must be translated literally and that such stories of a seven-headed beast rising from the sea and the four horseman are going to be very real and exactly that.

I believe that Revelations is partially literal and partially alligorical.

I believe either the large majority or the whole of Revelations is allegorical. I don't believe that beasts from hell will be running around devouring people up.

Revelations

RE: Revelations
Why is their god such a piss poor fucking translator?
Can't get his own writers to keep the original message clear -
Can't keep consistency inside the book itself -
Can't keep it translated properly from language to language -
Can't translate his Word for modern man without thousands of douchy internet apologists to "interpret" the thing for everyone else -

Seems like a real cheese dick. Undecided

So you won't burn in the lake of fire. Duh.

That would be the God of love and forgiveness then? Dodgy

Yes, the same God of love and forgiveness which condemns all of us to eternal torture but offers us a "gift" of salvation if we keep kissing his ass for eternity.

Really, it's no different from an abusive stalker who holds a gun to his victim's head and tells her that if she marries him he won't kill her.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

But it's funny how seriously Christians take that book of the bible. You can make any claim you want about the end of the world or the antichrist and just claim that it's in Revelation, and Christians won't question you. The thing is, yet again I must ask why would I want to worship a god which will make such bizarre and horrific events happen?

I think I have a problem with Revelation that the book was not added until 300 years after the event. Making sure all the Desciples were long dead.

It was also written by a guy named 'John' and thats all were told. Given the fact that the Nicea council rejected it intitially I'd say the book is a pile of balls.

Why dont we get the Apocyalpse of Peter back in - Everyone gets saved!

Ooh wait - like the Church faithers said 'The apocaylpse of peter is incompatable with the bible' or as I read it - Telling people theres no consequences for their action is a bad idea lets get rid of that book!

That's what's bad about mushrooms.

Technically that's a toad's tool. Or something.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
