Never dug beards until I dated a guy last year who had one, and well, even though we broke up...I still remember the awesomeness of his beard. I think his beard was what kept us together longer than we should have lasted.

These 2 insects were literally caught during copulation and have been preserved mating. It is as close to observational biology as you can hope to get out of the rock record.

Isn't the real news that a scientist spent ten years of his life looking for this specifically? I can see all sorts of abuse potential here: the bumpin' uglies bug biologist, the fornicating(fucking ...) fossil finder, the paleo- porn purveyor, etc.
