Ok, do Jews take two months of advertising before Chanukah? NO! OK, so I went to a Lowes grocery store yesterday, and they had Christmas music playing ALREADY, and not even Thanksgiving. So I am listening to the mix of magic baby songs and Santa songs wanting to put a bullet in my brain. Thinking I am the only one, but on my way out the cashier/ bag guy took the huge risk of commenting to me about having to put up with listening to that crap all day. I think maybe he might have overheard me on my way in groaning about it. I told him I was with him. I get that people believe different things and celebrate different holidays, but the fucking blatant commercialism makes me want to vomit. I am no fan of the bible in the slightest, but wasn't it Jesus who knocked over the merchants tables?

Christians, you are not the only religion in the world. And don't you gullible people understand that music is put in your head to make you spend money most of you don't have? You want to celebrate your fictional god, I wont stop you. But damn people you don't have to make such a fucking production out of it.

Man....I hate that fucking xmas music shit.

I don't understand why we need ANY music in shops, go in buy what you need and get out!

Is that ever true, Zebo. Even when it isn't the 4 months surrounding xmas they always give the PA system controls to the person with the worst musical taste imaginable.

I used to get really annoyed at the over commercialism of what I once considered to be something sacred (when I was a Christian). Now that I'm an atheist, and I see the whole thing as one big giant cash scam (religion), I just chuckle at it for the blatant stupidity it is, rather than the obvious prying at the wallet it has always been. The thing that annoys me is what it's teaching to our future generations; ignorance, greed, pride, covetousness, divisiveness, competitions... Now, these are my holiday gripes.

oh, boo. I happen to like the music, commercialism and all. I go in, buy what I need, and walk out. It doesn't "make" me buy anything I don't need. I'm a happy atheist singing Christmas carols, baby Jesus and all. Why? Because yes. After all, I don't have a jealous god telling me that singing those songs is cheating on him. I take it like singing a Barney song, or Backyardigans. Not real, but cute.

I love holiday season. I love Christmas, the Christmas trees, the lights, baking, cooking, decorating, making cards with my son, pumpkin spice, my son coloring Christmas coloring books that keep showing snow even though it never snows around here, candles, etc.

When Valentines day hits the corner, though... I hate commercialism! Why? Because yes. Pink and red don't go good together. They just want me to spend my money!

Double standard? Yes. Because I can.

I hate Valentine's day because jewelry stores who have already lost their senses make even more ridiculous and annoying commercials.

I told my boyfriend that if he ever bought me jewelry and it was from Jared, I'd leave him.
