I think I have made a pretty fair opening statement on that.
What would your proposed term be, assuming that it is merely the word on which you disengage?

So what's your new one? Never heard you before about it.
Watson do you realize you gave a kudo for a full materialistic account of reality? Deny your god and I might even belief your intentions.
I'm well aware of what I gave kudos too, dude. I like how you painted a very nice picture of the Naturalistic view of reality, and did so with an obvious amount of reverence for that view. Other than a few key points, I view the world almost the exact same way.

Might your god be among those "few key points"?

Yes, in fact He would be. But is it necessary to focus on what makes the view different and instead share in what maes them similar?

To futher complicate things for the one-dimensional mind, be it theistic or atheistic, I've found a vid of another horseman. Count with me, two down already:

PR,
I read your statement, it did a great job fleshing out the why which prompted my question of how. I am not sure what term could be used, maybe reverence, naturality, or om?
At http://www.yoism.org it seems that "yo" might cover the experience you are talking about although yoism seems wrapped up in some mystical aspects so that might even be a bad choice.
A quick web search leads me to believe that spirituality just seems antithetic to what you are talking about:

Really? Because my girlfriend is an atheist and it hasn't stopped us from loving each other with all of our hearts.

Science is not only compatible with spirituality; it is a profound source of spirituality.

Rhizo If "reverence" does it for you, that;s fine by me. Happy reverencing on the birth of your first child, if that's appropriate at all.
Yo seems like a trash can to me. I personally prefer yoghurt over yo.

Appeals to authority now? Come on Rabbit, you can do better than that.
After watching the video, something did dawn on me. If we DON'T use the word spirituality we fail to point at the same experiences so whatever word we do choose would have to point at those experiences while maintaining a seperation from false ideas about dualism or connection to some god concept. I still say spirituality is not the right word to use even though I am disagreeing with Carl Sagan and our own venerable Purple Rabbit. See, I can polish apples if you appeal to authority.

PS would you spiritual on the birth of your first child? I would rejoice in that event, or lament if it was with some tart I didn't ever want to see again.

Cool Watson, you actually reposted a horseman vid.
Authority? Just counting atheists that were able to pick up the steak you dropped.
