Pronoun Capitalization

RE: Pronoun Capitalization
"God" written with a small "g" allows you to pluralize the word by putting an "s" at the end and thus turning it into "gods."

But when you write "God," it is always going to represent something single; you can't pluralize it. And respectively, monotheism teaches that there is only one god, not more than one.

That might be one of the reasons for using a capital "g" in "God."

That makes sense in regard to the name "God".

I've always wondered, however, about the need to capitalize the "H" in He or His when referring to God.

I suppose, it has much the same purpose?

It may include she same purpose, but I think that the "He" and "His" words referring to God have more to do with showing respect, as well as to set Him apart from us human beings.

Along with "She and Her" for those who worship the Goddess?

Of course the whole capitalization thing can get way out of hand...like Papal encyclicals. The Catholics take everything way too seriously.

Yes, along with "She" and "Her" when referring to Earth or Mother Nature.

Language is a strange creature. But I think Rayaan is on the right (Hehe almost typed write) track.

It seems logical/ reasonable anyway.

Why is God a He? Does He have a Penis, Testicles and a nice, tickleable Prostate?
