Plus where I live over 90% of people are Christians.
Not a scientist? How do you define a scientist? I'm a biology major, so does that count? I can't say I know as much as some of the experts out there like Einstein, but I already know enough that I can fully see how life can be created and how mutations occure and lead to evolution of species. I know enough about life to see how life can exist with out any god to make it exist. Pretty much what I've learned about god is that god isn't necessary anywhere in the recipe; genes, evolution, energy.... those are necessary for life, not god.
And I have to figure, if I had a different major, I'd probably see other flaws to the Bible that are plain obvious to me. My boyfriend is going to be a geologist and I could probably find out a few things about radiometric dating that would disprove at least a literal interpretation of the Bible.

A troll is a person whose main goal in posting is to provoke emotional reactions. They like to start arguments, derail topics, and they're insincere in the sense that saying what they really thing isn't their purpose.
A Poe is someone who mimicks a fundamentalist in order to make fundamentalists seem immoral or stupid. It's a reference to Poe's Law, which states that it is impossible to parody a fundamentalist in this manner because there are always real fundamentalists who will say something as or more stupid or immoral. It's usually invoked when someone suspects that a poster cannot sincerely hold the view they're espousing, it's so ridiculous that it's easier to believe it's an atheist trying to make fundamentalists look bad.

Read the Bible twice, cover-to-cover. Your move.
And telling a Christian to read scientific materials is more like asking them to learn what a person educated in a developed country should already know. If you seriously maintain that being a Christian and learning more about science are incompatible, that's very good news for those who like to see the number of atheist increase if the idea catches on.

The minority of the moths were dark, but they were usually the first ones to get eaten first, since the stood out against white trees. Now however, the light moths get eaten first, giving the darker ones a chance to breed, so the gene that codes for the excessive melanin is a more successful one, and nowadays the darker moths are more successful in surviving than their light counterparts.
FYI, the area got its soot problem under control, the trees lightened up, and so did the moths, so the light variety is more common now again.

Our evidence is the planet. Atheists think this all just happened. My dad says it takes more evidence to be an atheist and believe in evolution than to be a Christian.
Are you fucking 12 years old? You keep going on about your dad. Have that ass hat come on here!
We actually have evidence. You have a shitty book.

No, I didn't, but I would love to!
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

No, it doesn't.
If you are not trolling, I say this with sincerity to you-I feel empathy for you after reading this, in that your dad is leading you astray. That's truly a shame.
You should do some independent research on atheism and you will see it isn't this evil conspiracy as you and your Christian peers think it is.
The truth will set you freeeeeee! (what actually IS truth)

Damn these ballooning threads!!
Are we scientists, yes I am... your math sucks!
Allow me to show you how you can use statistics "the right way".
Something like 70% of humanity does not believe in the christian model of god, hence it is the wrong model.
The same applies to any other model of the divine or after-life, so they are all wrong.

Can do!
So, in 2005, a Russian research team started breeding wild silver foxes, to make them more friendly around people. They started out with this: Actually, they started a bit further back... in the 1950's

Those foxes now act like your standard dog... at least, around humans.

Don't you think that's way too much time for such a short book?
What's his problem?
His opinion of the bible is that it's truthful... has he ever actually made a comparison of what's in there with the real world?

Oh my god, geology!! Love that field. He will also be able to tell you about the other dating methods, since carbon dating is only good for about the past 50,000 years, that christians NEVER talk about.
