It's much better. Any idea what the issue is?
If I had it my way voice conversation would be almost entirely replace text chat. I'd much rather talk on Skype for example than have to send and receive emails.

All I've ever gotten out of the mic is static. I'm pretty sure it's plugged into the correct socket. I don't know if it's because the sound card isn't good enough, or something else. About the only person I know who might be able to fix it lives in another state, and doesn't come to visit at my parents much.

Could very well be a did get sound card. Some cheaper mics can also be just about worthless out the box. Often for me it's just a matter of messing with settings until it works.

I tried adjusting the settings on the computer, and in the game, but nothing ever worked. I don't think I have all that crappy a sound card. It's just frustrating.

Ack the mic! I game, when I actually do game, without a mic because the wife hates hearing all those stranger's voices and if I have headphones on I can't hear what's going on in the house. Most people cuss a lot and I can't have that with 5 year old running around anyhow. I prefer only typing and using no microphone so my guilds and social circles are usually chosen by knowing there is not going to be microphone use in order to advance. When I raid that is a different story, but raid nights have always been limited for me.

I prefer to play video games alone these days. Most people I know are douchebags.
Besides, assuming I knew someone who was cool, human interaction gets in the way of the fun with the game.
If you wanna socialize, then just go outside, or something. >.>

Oh, I'll put you down alright... I'll put you 6 feet under, and get my buddies to gang-tbag your corpse while I murder your friends.

Have to agree there. I like walking and hiking, but when I'm outside it is personal solo time. I never liked bars and even when I was younger my friends wanted to party in my mom's basement and not at the bowling alley. E-mails, messengers, forums and mmos are plenty fine with me for socializing.

I used to go to a friend's house primarily to play his Super Nintendo. Though partly because after his dad moved the horses to a different pasture, about the only thing to do was play basketball. Which I didn't care much for.
It was fun playing with the horses when they were there, though. There were like three of them. We'd chase one around, but there was a small horse that would chase us around if we got on its nerves.
