God bless,

Yes, yes, you've made it quite clear that God gave you an asshole so you'd have something to talk out of.

If you really cared, you'd go someplace where people really need to hear about Jesus, like Saudi Arabia or North Korea. You only care to the point where you'll harass people who won't kill you for it.

Actually I would never turn my back to you.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

That's the thing, really. All religious people are doing is constantly repeating stuff we have heard a million times. What is the point? Quality, not quantity.

The only "new" arguments are either old ones poorly dressed up something cool and catchy, or new ways to create a logical fallacy.

Do you really believe we see things any different, maybe we should all close up shop and go home, just kidding. It's hard to figure how people who claim to be so smart can revert to such juvenile ways at times.

RE: Critique Time!
I'm being juvenile? How so? I don't remember claiming to be really smart. I claim to be applying scepticism a lot, though.

Quite the contrary, atheism is very similar to growing up.

I'm very happy to have a sensible debate, anytime. But unsupported assertions are not part of a sensible debate. Neither are deception, logical fallacies or emotional manipulation. If you have something other than the above, I'd love to hear it. Or if you want to argue that any of the above should be part of a sensible debate, then present your case.

Will you accept as truth anything I say, without a good supporting argument and/or evidence? I hope not. So you shouldn't expect me to. Any standards you would apply to what I say you should apply to yourself.

For starters, calling someone juvenile but not saying why is a logical fallacy called ad hominem.

If you don't respect what I've said, then I'll either just label your fallacies or ignore your arguments completely as worthless.

Don't take it personally, the above applies to every apologist in the world.

The plural of incorrect is not correct, and the plural of anecdote is not data.

Maybe if the god squad shut up once in a while the world would be a better place.

You don't care about any of us. You only care about your own ego and the brownie points you may get when you're dead with your invisible sky man. So let's not pretend you're here altruistically eh?

You should quit telling people what they have or haven't done, and stick to those things you know.

Is there anything else that needs to go on my new years resolution list?

Stop the Ask Seek Knock stuff. All you're doing is asking people to keep talking to themselves until they go so mad that they begin to think that someone is talking back to them.

Evidence is what we're after, not self delusion.

Don't start from a position where you assume the bible and god have already been demonstrated to be true.

All biblical Answers provide are direction for those who are looking to worship the God of the bible. This does not change anything with anyone else who is looking to worship their own version of God.

Quote:I don't doubt that you have a back and forth knowledge of what's in the book, and that's not my point of contention. That point of contention is that you have no basis to say that you understand what it means any better than I do. In fact, you have less basis than I do, because:
Well, again going to the greek and hebrew does give me a better understanding of the text. The bible was not orginally written in english. As such there are aspects lost in a literal translation, which is what most of you will read.

Quote:Not to sound too pompous, but your interpretation cannot be trusted because you accept everything within it as factual, without reservation.
I look to scripture as the bible/Paul says to look to scripture. That it is God breathed and is good for establishing and maintain a working relationship with God.

Quote:You accept, as reality, the events depicted within.
Again I accept the bible as everything I need to know about God in order to have a relationship with Him.

Quote: You can't offer a useful interpretation because you interpret it without allowing for any possibility that it is wrong or fabricated, nor do you account for any other religion's claims or holy texts. I believe that the Bible should be interpreted in all of these contexts.
There is only one context in which the bible need be intrpreted. Is the bible accurate in what it says about establishing and maintaining a relationship with God? Can i confirm/witness such a relationship outside of the bible if I follow it's perscribed path? If yes then it is as Paul said. The bible is complete. At which point one does not have to know whether or not there was an actual garden, an ark or understand the events plotted out in Revelation. We are only tasked to deal with what we have been given over to understand.

Quote:The last source anyone should seek for a proper Bible interpretation is a believer. You're salespeople selling a product and every one of you has enormous and intentional blind spots.

Perhaps, what has been deemed an 'intelectual blind spot' was so deemed because it is a requirement of God.

'To care for people' in this case Means to care for those who care enough to have a dialog. Most people don't. Especially in those regions.

A/S/K is about research. If you would simply approach God, as you would for food if you were starving then you would find Him. Christ Himself promised that.

Again that is what A/S/K is about.
