Evil does not exist, at least not onto itslef. Evil is an absence of Good.

And the corollary of that is that good is the absence of evil. By this logic, I could equally argue that good doesn't exist. Of course morality is relative. (It makes me wonder why you adhere to a system of religious belief which is pinned upon the idea that morality is absolute ... but that's another discussion).

Otherwise, you're simply asserting that good is the only truly existing moral quality.

The first two are materials states, the third is an abstraction. Your analogy fails.

disease is the absence of health
and finally death is the absence of life

Who created the viruses that kill people?

Who not only created the concept of death, but inflicted it upon every human being who ever lived?

Did this rebellion surprise your god? I was raised believing that the Christian god knows everything that ever was, ever is, and ever would be.

If your god knew Satan would go on to torment billions of people yet did nothing to stop this, then morally speaking, your god is culpable in those evil deeds. (Now, I'm not talking about Hell, so don't trot out Christ's sacrifice to demonstrate your god making right the evils he has permitted. I'm talking about the evils we see in this world, evils I've already mentioned such as diseases like cancer which strike haphazardly with no consideration of the victim's moral rectitude).

If your god didn't know that Satan would do this, then the obvious conclusion to draw is that the Bible is wrong about at least one pretty important aspect of your god's nature.

I asked IATIA the following question and this may take a few days to get thru because I'm back to work from my holliday, so not a lot of time.
I would appreciate your input as well

Forgive my ignorance and enlighten me; can you please define each one of those, one at a time.
Please don't move on to the next till I fully grasp the first one were going to tackle.

Lets start with COLD; how would you define COLD?
Let me thank you in advance for your patience.

Can we cut to the chase? Cold can be defined as an absence of heat because we have a specific and useful definition of what heat is. Darkness can be defined as the absence of light because we have a specific and useful definition of what light is.

However, "good" and "evil" are both nebulous and amorphous concepts, whose definitions change from person to person and from culture to culture. If you're going to define "evil" as the absence of "good", you'd have to first provide a working, useful, standard definition of "good".

entropy

you are your own system (your body)...while the environment around you is another and the object you touch is yet another.

When you touch that object, you are changing your entropy when you made contact.

Of course your body is warm and works at a certain body temp and any deviation from it will be felt by your nerves in your fingers, because they operate at an optimal 36.X degrees Celsius or so.

In short, black and white. The favorite definition for theists since it prevents the brain from going into overload.

They, as well as many Conservatives, never bother to look at the many shades of gray involved in painting the whole picture.

Yup. Trying to use scientific, impersonally defined objective ideas to justify painting everything as "good" or "bad" is a favorite tactic of theirs.

the fact is nothing is true evil nothing is true good. so there is no such thing as good or evil just different opinions.

So is entropy the transfer of heat from my body to the object I touch?
Or is it a measure of heat that remains within my body after I touch the object?

Cold - The direction toward which heat flows.

Can you please elaborate using an example and if possible quantify (or not)?
I think we all might learn or have our knowledge tested here...I'm totally digging this.

So are you saying that Hitler killing all those Jews was not evil, but just a matter of preference, based on his opinion?
