And it was crystal clear what the implication was so shove it.

At no point did I suggest that.

I was referring too the fact you had to resort to ridiculing the argument made instead of addressing it. Plus saying "well he started it" a a bit juvenile don't you think?

Um ... given that you quoted me saying, "Perhaps you could define yourself as not-the-asshole-Kyu-maybe-thinks-you-are too?" and then said "A bit uncalled for Kyu." what else am I supposed to think you were bothered about?

Maybe it is juvenile but few people are above that, I never claimed I was and, to be brutally honest, there's something quite therapeutic about having a pop at someone don't you think?

Looking back I can see that I've not made that very clear, I meant the tactic was uncalled for. You are not a mind reader and you don't know me so you have no way of knowing that swearwords even though I hardly use them myself don't really affect me.

Er ... my problem wasn't with you so I'm not sure why we're discussing you here?

I don't believe we are. It was about making it clear why I thought your response was uncalled for.

Sorry but I still don't get it, don't understand why you are referring to you ... you're not making it clear at all.

I think it is best when I make clear what my implication was. Your mindreading is very cute and insightful but beside the point. My implication with the use of the word "non-asshole" was to show that it is a bit awkward to label yourself as the negation of someting you dislike or don't identify with. By misquoting me you nicely demonstrate how awkward it is indeed. You go for the emotional impact of "asshole" and seem to forget all about the "non-" in front of it. And precisely that is what my reservation with the word atheism is based on.

If this is about derailing an argument with swear words, may I remind you that you effectively drew my attention with your qualification of my reservations with the word "atheism" as "philosophical BS".

It now seems however that we've cleared up your misunderstanding of my arguments with this live demo completely. And for that I am indeed very thankful.

If you say so, I reserve the right to be cynical about your intent. And on that note, I think we're done.

RE: What is in a label?
A lot of people think Einstein was a Deist, Dawkins thinks he was a Pantheist. He used the word God as a metaphor for the universe (Einstein - not Dawkins; lol).

To (help) clarify the difference Dawkins said in TGD: "Pantheism is sexed-up atheism. Deism is watered-down theism.".

Yes I had thought of Einstein when I had come across the word.

I wonder what kyu's thoughts on patheism are..
