For music, I'd want this as some of the ambiance as people arrive and get settled. It's designed to loop, so it's perfect for that sort of thing:
And this for the main song:
"I was thirsty for everything, but blood wasn't my style" - Live, "Voodoo Lady"

May as well go big.

Musically, it would be hard to do better than that piece. But the lyrics are quite religious. Whenever I hear it, I am thankful that I do not understand much Latin. But, it is a great piece of music, and otherwise very fitting for the occasion.
Doesn't matter. You won't have to hear it. You'll be the guy who is dead.

Thinking about it that way, it does not matter at all what one's funeral is like, or what is done with the body. Obviously, the OP is concerned about this sort of thing now. And equally obviously, he won't when he is dead.
Basically, you seem to be saying that he shouldn't give a rat's ass what happens at his funeral, or even if there is one.

What about some Queen music?
How about the stomp-stomp-clap from We Will Rock You.
Get the crowd involved and see if they can bring down the temple.

He, like any reasonable individual, wants a blow-out good time for the people left behind. It shows good will towards them and leaves pleasant memories of him for his friends.
But if you want no expense spared-
How about Oh Fortuna from Carmina Burana?
or Saint Saens Symphony 3 last movement: played loud.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

I was trying very hard to avoid saying that to him now. After he is dead, when his relatives totally disregard everything that he says he wants in his funeral, it will not matter to him. But now, he is free to imagine whatever he wishes about his funeral. You seem to want him to face reality about things that happen after he will be dead, when what he wants will be of no concern.

No, all I'm saying is that the moment you die you cease to give a shit about anything.
Let Jim Jeffries explain it.

I want my partner, Sam Elliot, overwhelmed by grief, to hurl himself into my funeral pyre.

No explanation is necessary. If you do not exist, you cannot care about anything. This should be perfectly obvious to everyone.
