Just a rant, but they have been acting more like a liberal version of the 700 Club this week leading up to Easter. They've been pounding issues of prayer and near death experiences and at best talk about interfaith relationships. 

Liberals are well intended, but I am tired about lying even about liberal media, this is about selling add space. Sensational garbage that does little to do with objectivity or fact finding. 

I'd like to know when they are going to spend a week on skepticism and science. When are they going to have historians on and not religious apologists? When are they going to have Tyson and Dawkins and Harris on? Not for one day, but for a week?

Why should humanity be afraid of reality? We became more civil and more advanced PRECISELY because our species dared to challenge our perceptions of reality. 

Liberal woo needs to be challenged as much as right wing woo.

Ask them to get some skeptics and atheists and scientists on.

Erm..this isn't really anything new. The morning shows aren't really supposed to be 'news' any more than Oprah is. They're catering to their audience, the largest majority of whom is Christian. They aren't broadcasting truth or claiming to be some hard-hitting investigative journalism expose show.

It might be irritating, but it's nothing new and it's really nothing important.

Maybe if the mainstream media was doing it's job, shows like Jon Steward wouldn't be ranked among the most informative in America. Then we wouldn't have to complain about stuff like the Today Show not being as objective as we'd like.

Well of course big business never acts on its own, but we can use media too to challenge these claims ourselves. That is why I posted this.

The whole segment they've been doing about beliefs has been pretty vomit-inducing, but it's nothing I wouldn't expect from such a contrived and dim-witted show.

I've only caught the show a couple of times this week(I'm still not sure why I watch it anymore), but it was fun to see the disgusted look on Al Roker's face when they brought up the healing power of prayer.

I've tuned out all week.

And imagine God up in heaven looking down upon all the usual slackers gettin all pious for a few days.

Meh, He ain't impressed, not one whit.  And then all the pastors realize if they aren't careful about getting too hard line this Sunday, that 1% chance of seeing these Christer wannabees next week goes down to 0.001%

Just sit back and watch the circus, it all just shows what a craven mess it all is.

Makes me glad I don't own a TV.

You can measure the time since I've last watched the Today show in decades. There's always something better to do.

Saying I watch would probably be a bit of a stretch, it is generally background noise while I do shit around the house in the morning. Still, it grates my nerves when I hear faith blahblah, godblahblah, miraclesblahblah coming out of it.
