Re: "Why so many "anti-feminists" in the atheist community?" (http://atheistforums.org/thread-30612.html)
I grew up in a time that considered males and females as completely different species, before there were many households with two bread winners. Women wore skirts and dresses, men trousers (though, in fact, high school girls could, with impunity, wear their fathers/brothers shirts, though not to school). On the other hand you'd never see a boy wear mom's of sister's blouses. (aside: I first saw Disney's "Fantatasia" when it first came out in 1939 at at the age of 6) Well I'm getting a bit away from what I want to say.
Because of being brought up in those times I always viewed girls/women as so different I had considerable problems connecting with them.
It has taken me years to realize one sex is no different from the other (except body confirmation) in their likes, dislikes, abilities, desires, , etc. and so it should be in private and public life. I deplore the fact that women executives or any other work are, generally, not treated the same as their male counterparts.

Having said that I also recognize there are some elemental differences in mental make up, how they see different aspects of life from those of men. Still they shouldn't be penlized in the market place or on the street for that matter. (New York City has some (No Whistle Zones) around the city.
