You definitely get an A for effort man.
Couple thoughts:
Less themes.  Napoleon's right.  You've got a lot going on there. You want the viewer to be drawn to it, not rattled by it.
Try to keep your color use to no more than three.  Even one is just fine if it's used correctly.
As a rule of thumb, give your script a backing, a frame, or any kind of effect that separates the letters from the background.

Seriously though - I think its great when someone puts something out there for others to judge.  It shows real courage when someone allows themselves to be scorned or ridiculed for a creative endeavor.  Thus my kudos.

FYI, my first graphic was fucking terrible.  (some of them still are). Dodgy

Coming up on the end, folks! 5 days until the competition comes to a close. Remember to PM your official entries to Tiberius. If you are on the fence, do one!
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I typically go overboard on the number of colors. Unfortunately, I don't think I have the time to fix this.

Sadly, I lack the tools and the talent to do a professional logo.  But, what the hell.

This one's actually pretty nice, it might be cool to have a theme that's a bit brighter.

I really love the current theme though. Maybe there should be a selection of themes and either we can change the theme we use ourselves or the staff just updates it a bit more often to keep things fresh?

I think the new banner should have this kid in it. I think it represents all of us Atheists.

Awesome idea, though. It's hard not to want to include all of those elements. As well, the figure evolving toward the sun and away from all the religious imagery is spot on.
