"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I don't want to see Randy go, not like this. If he does end up leaving us, it wil be for running under the forum wheels.

I'd like to see how deep a hole he can dig himself first.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Which ones?

The upper or the lower ones?

Thick lips, bad breath eh?

TO ALL FORUM MEMBERS:

In a previous post, I asserted that when facing death, everyone gets serious about God. In support of my firm opinion, I quoted a common cultural reference, "there are no atheists in foxholes". Despite the fact that this phrase has been in widespread usage in our culture for more than 70 years due to the general truth it contains, it was technically incorrect to use that phrase as a proof of the universality of the experience to which it speaks. In fact, it may be true that some people - atheist, agnostic, or theist - may not actually think of God at all at the precise moment of such peril or death and that there may be some atheists in foxholes, after all.

I regret the error.

Huh.  I thought you were reading your "materials" right now.

Dishonest douchebag.

Then you were mistaken. I read at night before going to bed.
