Had legislatures influenced by the religious right permitted civil unions that provided the same legal benefits of marriage, there would have been no basis for a 14th amendment equal protection case. Unlikely.

We'll be losing tax-exempt status within the next decade, IMO. And that will be the least of our worries.

Just think of it this way. Even if the "persecution" Christians claim is happening to them now actually happens, it can't be any worse than the Christians have done to others for hundreds of years.
