Ah, but the gotcha was whether the copy pasted contained any good points.  Cause you know, good points are good points.

What he missed, and I hope he's listening here, points widely published yet not convincing are probably not good points.  Just saying.

Randy, the thing is this, your arguments are all arguments that make believers feel better about believing, but they aren't proof.  Even you admitted that they aren't scientific proof.  Believing in god appears to require the will the believe in god.  Well, sorry, if proof isn't obvious, requiring not exertion beyond weighing the evidence (even if the evidence is counter intuitive) then there's no evidence.

I probably will go on being respectful and nice when you come back.  I'm built that way.  But you still lack any real demonstrable evidence.

I don't believe in anything I must want to believe in in order to believe in.  It saves me from a lot of isms, a lot of pseudo science, and so far, all religion.

Every so often you've suggested I'm a cut above this forum.  That's not so.  I'm politer to you, no more.  Don't mistake that for agreement.  The facts however, remain the facts.  And they aren't with you.  There is no evidence of god that brings him anywhere even close to a 50/50 proposition.  God remains many hundreds if not thousands to one.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

But to make good points you have to know your sources. You have to make an educated selection based on source criticism. You also have to present more than one author. And most of all, you don't cherry pick that one author to make him confirm your preconceived notion.

What he does is the dishonest approach and certainly not in any way, shape or form, making a good point.

He had a 25% warning for plagiarism, which he tried to justify because you know plagiarism for a good cause is ok.  He had just recently had a 25% warning for copy pasta.  Then he copy pasta another OP.  It's clear he understood the rules, he just felt privileged to violate them anyway.

The mods bend over backwards for theists.  Had he been an atheist he would have been banned months ago.

I just want to officially declare that I am really a theist.  I firmly believe in the divinity of Dionysus, and plan on engaging in my religious devotions later this evening.  Here is an image of my god:

The name that appears above the image of my god is the name of one of the many institutions devoted to His worship.  (They, however, use His Roman name, as they are French and are closer to Italy than Greece, but it is just a different name, not a different god.)  I plan on using one (or more than one) of their fine products in my religious devotions this evening.

I think that Uncle K may well also be a devotee of Dionysus, and has just forgotten that in his zeal against that foul superstition called "Christianity."  Dionysus is real, and He demonstrates His reality in His divine gift to us, that people may experience for themselves:  The gift of divine intoxication.  Truly, I have felt His divine gift on many occasions, and expect to feel His divine gift this evening.  All one needs to do to feel His divine warmth is to drink a bottle or two of wine, and one will experience this for oneself.  One can feel this without believing in Him first, so skeptics can test His divinity before accepting the truth that He is real and wants us to be happy.  As a scientist, Uncle K must accept such evidence and join in on this true and demonstrated religion.  "Faith" is not needed for the truth; that is what false religions require.

Much art and poetry has been devoted to His worship:

Quote:XII.

A Book of Verses underneath the Bough,
A Jug of Wine, a Loaf of Bread--and Thou
Beside me singing in the Wilderness--
 Oh, Wilderness were Paradise enow!

LVI.

For "Is" and "Is-not" though with Rule and Line
And "UP-AND-DOWN" by Logic I define,
Of all that one should care to fathom, I
was never deep in anything but--Wine.

XCV.

And much as Wine has play'd the Infidel,
And robb'd me of my Robe of Honor--Well,
I wonder often what the Vintners buy
One half so precious as the stuff they sell.

Even the Divine Tiberius, great and wise ruler of this site, acknowledges Dionysus.  Just look at the 7th Anniversary banner at the top of this page!

All praise the true god Dionysus!

"A wise man ... proportions his belief to the evidence."
