The West can talk about reducing carbon emissions and such, but it won't do a lick of good if we don't get China on board.

I find it hard to stomach that such a relatively small percentage of the global population can ruin the planet for everyone else.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

There will be life forms that will evolve to thrive in China. If there is a subsequent global apocalypse, those life forms will be key to restoring life on the planet.
