A materialistic worldview has no effect on morality at all. Whether we are all made of material or mind, morality still evolved naturally.

Then there is no real right or wrong? What is moral could be completely different, and really only reflects survivability? No.... morality is about being against cruelty and suffering of humans and all other conscious creatures.

It is not that atheist are immoral, but that morality, is difficult to account for under a materialistic worldview. It has nothing to do with moral or immoral behavior of believers or unbelievers. But the nature of morality and that saying an action is moral or immoral is anything more than subjective opinion. No, it is you that misunderstands. The argument is that all morality stems from god, so without god there can be no morality. Therefore, we atheists are immoral. I've seen it dozens of times here. RE: Stereotypes of Atheists

I don't think Jenny is a troll at all. She genuinely means no harm. She has strong opinions and misunderstands but we all do and I just think debating is a lot more futile than I used to think it was.
Of course, I totally disagree with her viewpoints, but she's not an asshole she seems like a nice person, and not a troll. I don't know the event and context which is being referred to. I'm basing this on my own experience and what I have seen elsewhere. It's the same response, but the conditions may have been different. I apologize if I was jumping to conclusions. |
