Either one.  Doesn't matter.

The atheists seemed pretty cool Smile

Anyone who can walk around there and leave without smashing the place up has a high level of self control Big Grin

Science is the word of man, the bible is the word of God...

No. The bible is the word of man too. It's written by man just as much as any science textbook is. Whether a bunch of crazy shit was going on at that time or not is of secondary concern. It's still come through the filter of man.

The word of God wouldn't need a book, he could just beam it into our heads or whatever.

Thoughts? It's a scam, perhaps unintentional, orchestrated by the intellectually dishonest, intended to separate the credulous from their money.

It's 100% grade B bullshit.

I have the distinction of living near a city in the UK that houses our one and only creation "museum".

The bible doesn't mention dinosaurs, because the people who wrote it didn't know anything about them. Shamelessly pretending that the bible meant to include them, and "didn't say they weren't there" is pathetic. Judging by this video, they have become a central selling point of the whole place.

It should be made very clear at some point that this is just an imagining of events and isn't based on any evidence. If it's being sold as an actual accurate museum and taking people's money, then I agree it is a scam.

Grade A bullshit is at least plausible.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Blondie - All jokes aside, there really is not an "other side" to this "debate". There's not really a debate.

What we have operating here are people who started out with an a priori assumption, that the Bible is 100% literal and accurate, and they do everything in their power to uphold that belief no matter what they must twist in order to make it fit the presumption.

On "the other side", you have 150 years of scientists fighting with one another to confirm or deny ideas that, initially, went against the weight of thought on the subject. You have people who have every reason to not believe anything anyone else says, since they come from various countries and religious backgrounds, agreeing with one another on 99% of the details of the theory. To put it another way, roughly half of the evolutionary biologists out there are religious, and most of those are Christians. Two popes have come out and said that evolution is reality. Why would any of them agree with evolutionary biology if it was made up?

Try to picture someone agreeing with the Creationists who didn't already start out as a Creationist. Just try to picture it.

Rob, it seems like the bible was the catalyst only.
It's now become a free for all to make up any bullshit you want whether in the bible or not, literal or metaphorical.

Modern religion is now like watching commercials on TV 24/7. Completely void of anything of substance other than to trick out of something.
At the end of the day just follow the money!
