To be fair, I think the bigger insult is that he assumed that I don't take my recovery seriously, all based on one, short journal entry I chose to share.

I sure as fuck wouldn't be alive if I didn't take this shit seriously.

Not to me tion that he's demonstrating himself to be part of the very problem you're trying to address.

Maybe it should teach you to keep your trap shut when you don't know what you're talking about.

You didn't try to help. You just talked at me. Helping me would have meant asking me what I've been through, so you could understand where I'm at and what I need. You narcissistically assumed you already had that information and then tried to spew off advice without understanding you don't have enough information to extrapolate anything about what I need.

Your ego got the best of you and made jump out half-cocked.

It was a mere suggestion. I'm not to blame you took it otherwise.

But that's enough about EP's obnoxiousness. That's not what this thread is for.

Kudos to rob for posting his face. I didn't think anyone else would do it here!

And you're the arrogant one assumming I don't understand what you're problem is merely because I'm younger and not an expert. The problem is very simple, and stands as mentioned. It's not as easy to solve it, though, if you're too meshed into it.

RE: Opening up about being mentally ill
I have been diagnosed with a number of mental health issues.
Major recurrent depression, anxiety disorder, ptsd, eating disorder..codependency, and more.

I don't think I've ever been mentally healthy. I keep fighting and going back and trying new things. I'm on a new added medication that seems to have raised my baseline some in the few weeks I have been taking it. I am also in a 6 month weekly DBT class. It's a slow road, but I have a great therapist and we really click. I just wish I could see her more often.

One of my favorite things I have heard is, "Would you tell someone with cancer to 'Just get over it?' There is no difference."

You're missing the point.

You're unqualified to assess anyone else's psychological state other than your own. Furthermore, you're unqualified to dispense medical or psychological advice. In addition, you're a presumptuous ass for assuming that you possibly could do such things.

I don't doubt that it was your desire to be helpful, but the manner in which you offer help in this instance does more harm than good and cheapens FNM's experiences.
