Opening up about being mentally ill

Major recurrent depression, anxiety disorder, ptsd, eating disorder..codependency, and more.

I don't think I've ever been mentally healthy. I keep fighting and going back and trying new things. I'm on a new added medication that seems to have raised my baseline some in the few weeks I have been taking it. I am also in a 6 month weekly DBT class. It's a slow road, but I have a great therapist and we really click. I just wish I could see her more often.

One of my favorite things I have heard is, "Would you tell someone with cancer to 'Just get over it?' There is no difference."

Have you considered trying harder?

His experiences do need to be cheapened though. He needs to do it himself though, that's the whole point. I'm not trying to belittle him.

There sure is a difference. But that's just my take on it, no need for anyone to get nasty about it. If you don't like my take on the matter, nobody's forcing you to react to it.

You're a douche and you have no clue what you're talking about.

PTSD, panic disorder, depression

I've been doing really well lately. That time I disappeared for a few months...not so much

Kudos to rob for posting his face.  I didn't think anyone else would do it here!

Here is a suggestion.  I've just put EP on ignore while I'm reading this thread.  That way it will be easier focus on the issue raised and not let this thread too become all about EP.  It is easy enough to take him back off ignore whenever.

I'm sorry. I didn't expect everyone to react the way they did. I wasn't being intentionally obnoxious, so I'm not sure how you could take it as such, but O.K. I'll respect everyone's wishes and stop posting wherever things get too personal. It seems my personality is not fit for such environments.

And I sincerely hope you get better, FNM, no matter how. We're all different and react differently to such things, so what may work for me may not work for you. Sorry.

You just look so very young, Losty.  Sorry about your condition though.  From what little anxiety I've experienced it seems like it would be even more uncomfortable than the depression I've experienced.  Though I lost social confidence when I was depressed.  I think that is why it is so unusual for those who suffer to reach out as Chris and Rob have done, especially while in its grip as Chris has done.

Because I get it. I understand the struggle and I know how hard it is.
