Your need to own property enslaves you. Why would you need more stuff in a society everything is free?

Oh bullshit, I don't need to own anything, I like owning certain things, I do it of my own accord. Breathing however, now that's something I'm enslaved to, and it's free...

Tell me, how is it okay to own lots of free things as opposed to things that are a measure of your value relative to other people over time? Actually, how are the things you have in socialism any more 'free' than those earned by an individual? In my case I would get less than present because I earn above average, it's only the able and lazy that realistically get anything free - The disabled got the shit straws in the genetic lottery and it takes them a lot of effort just to survive, I'm more than happy providing for someone in that circumstance. Besides, it's my ability to purchase objects of desire than motivates me to work hard and up-skill.

Quote:Tell these to the people working more than 12 hours a day and barely feed themselves.

Tell them what? How about 'Stop having more children than you can afford to comfortably provide for'?

Your political compass results from: http://www.politicalcompass.org/test

Economic Left/Right: -7.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.10

I feel more attracted the American Progressive movement. Im a big fan of BOTH of the Roosevelts and of the Bullmoose Progressive Party.

I consider that politics are absurd, as you will never find any brand or party that is the perfect choice, nor will you find one that makes everyone happy. Everyone thinks differently about politics, even if ever so slightly. BUT.. although I say it is absurd, I do not mean that we should not try. Who knows, maybe one day a politcal system will be created that every human is happy with. I seriously doubt it will happen, but I may be wrong.

Until then, I say we give as much social freedom to the people of ALL cultures with ample constitutional protections (gays, all religions and non-religions, all political creeds, let people have their guns and booze and pot) and lets keep our eyes on the greedy ones who make corrupt corporations to go into corrupt unions with corupt politicians to destroy our planet, our people, our water, and our rights and ultimately enslave us for greedy profit.

Yeah..I like that..thats it for me in a nutshell.

This quiz has categorised you as a Liberal. You believe in the role of the government to fight poverty, both by means of welfare programs, and economic regulation. You are defined as a progressive in the US, but you are generally favouring of the retention of the current social paradigm.

I wonder if I'm the bleeding heart type? Thinking
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

Wow, I think you are right there around Glen Becks area. I fairly easy going when it comes to politics. To give you an example Ive been shooting guns on and off with my neighbors (yeah, we had assault shotguns and AK47's as well) and one day I finally told them I was a left wing Progressive and they didnt believe me. They thought I was a moderate or something. They only know what progressives were from glen beck, who happens to equate us as: anti-gun, baby killing communist atheist muslim nazi racists. Well, he only got one right in that list..at least for me, lol. Communists and fascists are WAAAYYYYY across the isle from my political Ideology, and I dont like being called either.

Im not trying to equate you with Glen either..

I have a favorite saying; "Thats nuttier than whats on Glenn Beck's chaulk board!"

I have this really hot economics major friend who liked to say "Communism looks fantastic on paper." And then if a piece of paper happened to be laying around, he'd pretend to wipe his ass with it.

To be honest mate, "bleeding heart liberal" is not the first phrase which comes to mind when I think of you. That would be "quite-nice-really--slightly-rabid-homophobe".Angel Cloud

What a small world! I have a friend who is an economist too. He teaches at Trinity College, Cambridge.

Perhaps the most startling thing thing he said to me was: "The difference between a good economist and a bad economist is that a good economist will admit he doesn't know what he's talking about". I thought it was a rather facile thing to say. Then he told me he stole the saying from John Maynard Keynes. Cool Shades

Of course not. I guess that''s why virtually every country immediately adopted a classic Keynesian approach instead of letting the market sort itself out. Cool Shades
