In congress yes, I'd say the president who  has done that the most was Bush Jr. Obama has taken the least vacation time over prior presidents.

How about the fact that he says that you can't understand America if you don't think that America was founded on Judeo-Christian values.  It wasn't.  There were many people who held Juedo-Christian Values, but that does not mean that America was founded on those values.  One may find the word "creator" only in the Declaration of Independence.  Nowhere is God or any sort of creator mentioned in the only legal document that matters--the constitution.  Our rights come from the constitution.   No matter how much theists wish it to be so.  Their God had no involvement in the founding of our country.  The good news is this means that nobody else's god did either.  It's very much a dirtbag thing to suggest that our rights come from 'god'.

The comment about not understanding America was offensive and idiotic. Also he never answers the question, we know you can't force us to pray or force us to believe in the Christian god, the question was not about mind legislation. The question was more to the effect of will you uphold the constitution, the secular document that protects the rights of all Americans, instead of trying to enact laws that fall in line with your religion.

I don't want someone who could effect my rights, using faith to make crucial decisions, I want someone rational, who is going to want to make decisions that best benefit the people, not some moron who thinks he is doing god's work.

Don't you think the values of the people of the time played a role in the values of they created for the culture/society, though? I think that's all he was saying.

Edit to add: and by "values" I don't mean belief in God... I mean what specifically *comes* from that. Believing in freedom, justice, etc.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Freedom or justice are not Christian concepts, in fact they specifically put in the constitution the state and church would be separate, because the church's law did not promote freedom.

Right, and the values of the people of those times *were* Judeo Christian, because that's what those people were.

This was a canned response. Maybe it's just me but did anyone else get a hint of "thank god that in america we're not going to allow judeo-christian religious persecution"?
And "our religious freedoms should know no bounds"?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
