Iran is starting to move

Equality would mean either change verse 4:34 of the quran or delete it entirely.

Quote:Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Apparently Rouhani is tired of his job.

The optimist in me hopes he knows the Quran says no such thing, but that he knows it's wrong so wants to shove it through any way he can.

In England we have women preaching in church from the same book which says they're not allowed to talk in church. Hopefully the East will become civilized hypocrites like the West and we can all live peacefully.

And don't come back until you've read it.

This is good news. Hopefully it eventually spreads to the other middle Eastern countries that are not there yet.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Iran is Shi'a.  This would piss the Sunni's off even more.

Do Shias and Sunnis actually even have different dogmas? Or is it still just because they disagreed on who should have been king 1000 years ago?

You, as a Catholic, have a dogma. Protestants haven't. They also don't have an ultimate religious leader assuming to have sort of a red telephone to god. Same goes for Islam. There is no ultimate religious leader and no dogma. Neither for Sunnis nor for Shiites nor for the other different smaller denominations.
