Why would we bother to develop capabilities with reference to something for which we have no evidence of its existence. To show you how ridiculous your statement is, let me replace spiritual with something we know is fictional (being from a series of fiction novels):

"That's what happens to the thinking of people who haven't taken the time develop any Discworld discernment."

We have exactly the same evidential for Discworld as we do for spirits, assertions made without supporting data. The only difference being that Terry Pratchett never went around insisting that Discworld was actually real outside his and his readers imaginations, whereas, despite masses of evidence contradictory, idiots like you still continue to insist that there is a reality outside our reality and demand that the rest of us take your unevidenced assertions to be absolutely true.

Ooh, spiritual discernment.  I like spirits. Bring over a bottle and we'll happily discern them.  What?  You meant invisible things that you can't prove exist, like ghosts and leprechauns and sparkly vampires and santa claus and god?  Well, that's a disappointment.

Notice that earth is shielded from the galactic core; and how uniquely created it is. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/dVCIPQ4VOu4/maxresdefault.jpg
Scripture always links the purpose of creation with redemption. The current creation however is close to fulfilling that purpose. Timeline is: Now to the start of the 7 year tribulation period, the 1000 year kingdom rule of Christ on earth. Then God will destroy this cosmos (probably only this universe, maybe beyond). Then the new creation including a new earth. Believers will have new earth responsibilities (fulfilling work without fatigue, drudgery, etc. since there will be new physics.
So after 13.77 billion years, what is left is: less than 100 years (undoubtedly) + 7 years, +1000 years. As the timeline indicates all but a smidgen was God's preparation for this period of redemption.  If one were to smooth out a graph of an unbelievers life, it would show that they're either moving toward salvation or blasphemy (occurs at the movement of death, persons have decided that God can take His redemption plan and shove which will result in spiritual death- called the second death which is eternally permanent); whereas, salvation is acceptance of God's redemptive plan.* Note: Religions - they all can't be right; aka, Hinduism believes in 330 million gods, Buddhism doesn't believe in any, and on it goes.
God's nature doesn't allow for 'torment'; the experience of hell is self-imposed: Truth is not taught there, the thought of what could have been, and the company of people there are among the difficulties.
*Summation of that redemption plan by me (not Chapter and Verse) - "Everyone that calls upon the name of the Lord by embracing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ will receive salvation". Believing in God's existence is not the issue, yes, not the issue.

Yeah...

This highlights a general difference between theists and sceptics.

Theists generally seem stuck in the old mindset that the earth is the centre of the universe, or that the earth pretty much is the only important thing with everything else being a backdrop. This is often given away by interchangeable use of "world" and "universe".

Sceptics seem to be able to accept that our planet, and the life on it, are as much of a backdrop as anything else.

Yeah, I'll take the torture and refuse to serve such a wicked being as this God you describe.

Can you explain the rapist accusation please?
God isn't forcing you to do anything you don't wanna do
and sure, but that's a little disturbing how you prefer torture :S

Satan in the bible isn't evil if compared to god. god in the bible is evil and does bad things because he can. So yeah you don't
have free will in heaven because you know the ability to think for yourself is said sin that is taken away.

I disagree with the asshole claim. God is actually very kind, considering how He became a human to die so that we wouldn't go to hell. Jesus went to hell for three days and three nights too. To me that sounds like a very good God.
and Satan is evil. He's the one who tempted us to sin in the first place and sewered everyone smh.

May I ask, how does that work? I just don't see how god dying as a human prevents us to go to hell. Wouldn't that mean that God is now dead leaving us to tango with Satan without his help?
