What, you think "herpa de derpa, derity, derp" is a good argument? The more you post gc the more stupid you reveal yourself as.

what makes you think what was said by the Cretan prophet was not meant to be taken literally?

Are you still working on the wrong definition of the word liar?

Again a liar is someone who takes no issue lying, which means that person feels as comfortable telling a lie as telling the truth. it does not mean one has to be lying when ever he is speaking.

That being the case what the prophet is saying is that his people just as soon lie to you as tell you the truth if a lie would better serve them. So then why would this observation be considered to be hyperbole if it represents a cultural truth?

If the prophet was telling the truth, then Cretans aren't always liars are they.

Why not?

If Cretans are always liars, then the Cretan who said it is always a liar, meaning that the statement 'Cretans are always liars' is a lie, meaning Cretans aren't always liars, meaning the Cretan is a liar.

You know that story was actually told by the Cretan poet Epimenides centuries before it found its way into the biblical fairy tale.
