Are we witnessing a new manifestation of Godwin's law? Frustrated because people disagree with you and you're unable to defend your assertions? No problem, just randomly start bitching about Western influence and meddling.

That's not even remotely new. That's how things tend to pan out with our muslim apologists as well......at least as long as I've been here.
-shrugs-
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
Purpleprose - Try thinking of atheism as the assertion, "I think all the gods humans have told me about are made up, and I see no reason to assume that some other version would instead be correct/real."
As they pointed out to you, repeatedly, many of us are also agnostics (myself included, as you can see in my tagline), in that we think the question simply cannot be answered by humans. Doesn't stop people from making up stories about this fictional uber-Alpha-Male. Religion is a manifestation of our chimpanzee brains (so to speak), in which we've been conditioned by hundreds of thousands of generations of tribal society living that we need an Alpha authority, in which we can go into the purely fantastical in our ability to Project hypothetical ideas and tell stories, and the actions of a few self-appointed clergy "leaders" using those concepts to manipulate the others (including themselves, most of the time) into thinking they should have that right of social control. A modern atheist simply looks at that process, observes that human pattern-seeking tendency as a pattern in itself, and thinks, "Yep. All made up." It's just that simple.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
Gut feeling can be wrong.
People seek to believe in God because: they fear of hell(virus idea) and they wish to profit from him by going to heaven. Don't care about heaven, but hell puts fear in me as I have accumulated enough fate to last long enough. Fate is like self hypnosis which you welcome or deny. Im just speculation, im not a grand theologian. RE: About atheism

So you believe...because you are afraid? Well......

Yep, this guy has bought into the end time reward/punishment fantasy based on acts/actions. I'm OK with him believing it, no skin off my teeth. Certainly sounds silly though.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

All theology is is speculation, since there is no way to test any of its claims, or even the existence of its subject of interest. "Grand theologian" is just another term for "skilled bullsh*tter".
"The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one." - George Bernard Shaw
The funny thing is that all atheists who think "anything beyond science is bullshit" and often "death is the end of consciousness" ironically argue for a complete death(death of consciousness) and a good lifetime on earth not bothered by religion. If religion is silly. Atheism is sad.

-and yet I'm happy. Hmn, you seem to be wrong, again. Why is that, do you think?
