Just When You Thought Arizona Couldn't Get Stupider...
RE: Just When You Thought Arizona Couldn't Get Stupider...
Just for some information, I happen to live near a military base. And there are a few warehouses just hanging around the city with tanks, hummers, trucks and other stuff witha 10ft fence around it some don't even have razor wire. Their gaurded by a few soldiers which could easily be over powered if not willing to join the citizens and give us the armored vehicles.

Some of us are crazy, mainly those on the streets already born into a life of struggles, the difference between american ghettos and ghettos in other countrys is the fact that its allot easier to be poor in other countrys. Your poor here, you gotta compete with millions of other poor people, and against the police. Incase you didn't know we have a pretty low tolerance here, this nation is also built on prisons.

You wan't proof of it being hard in the streets, heres one of the voices. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtFzkxG9G40

Not really. You can't mistake the movies for reality. In the movies trained men-at-arms never seem to know what to do with their weapons while shit-kicking farmers are ninjas with pitchforks.

This is the legacy of Rambo movies. Too many people think the bad guys always miss.

No... i just suggest that after long enough the soldiers get tired. The numbers are of course not realistic Smile

Luckily, guns are a lot more deadly than pitchforks Tongue

In other words, it was a strawman? Tongue

Also by "standing up to the government", do you mean by like how the Egyptians did with theirs?

I have no idea what 'news' goes on over in that area. A few (successful) revolts that somehow accomplish next to nothing? Nothing new.

Peasants supposedly differ from citizens (arguments like wage slaves don't exist, heh) depending on who you talk to. Luckily guns are more likely to be fatal than a charging pitchfork Tongue Here the soldiers are citizens.

You yell "charge!", I'll yell "good luck!".

You forget that if *I* am yelling charge: victory is certain. If it's someone else, there's a possibility of it being otherwise... but I don't typically yell charge. And when I do, you better bet you should charge.

Granted, our "prisons" are good enough that many would like to move there.

Ever see what George Washington had to say about "militia?"

Quote:To place any dependence upon militia is assuredly resting upon a broken staff. Men just dragged from the tender scenes of domestic life, unaccustomed to the din of arms, totally unacquainted with every kind of military skill ... makes them timid and ready to fly from their own shadows.

So you've either been to prison or would like to move there?

I would rather not have to fight for my life, or my body on a daily basis.

Soldiers wear out, true. However the Romans had solved that problem. The front line soldiers after a while would fall behind the second line which then becomes the first to continue the fight, leaving the once first line to refresh themselves. Seeing as the second row are still fresh, it causes an endless circle of refreshed soldiers while the opposing army tires and wears out. A legion of tireless soldiers.
Just wanted to add that for no real reason. Smile

Accomplish next to nothing? They rebelled and over threw a dictatorship and replaced it with a democracy. Sounds like a huge accomplishment to me. The Libyan rebels are trying the same thing, but this dictator, seems to have no limits. He is prepared to mass murder. This is where weapons and training would come in handy.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

I agree with him. Hence why I'm in favor of how Switzerland does things Smile

I've been to prisons in america, and I am not impressed. The thing I don't like is the hair cutting. I'm against the whole idea of that. Hair doesn't just grow back instantly, it's completely out of line to cut it.

But it would be a mistake to consider american prison particularly harsh. Want a real prison and you'll go to russia.

True, and I think that it is a good system. There are reasons I play Zerg in starcraft 2 instead of terran or protoss, you know.

Replaced it with a theocracy, which will again become a dictatorship. Pathetic.

Yes, Libya's revolution is much more inline with why I believe america should have weapons to defend itself from itself. Wonder when america will go the way of the romans (republic into empire).

If I'm charging, I'm charging. Running at my target. If that's in front of behind matters not.

Since russian prisons are actually used to protrect high profile criminals from serious crimes, i don't see it

Please do not talk about high profile exceptions. Russia's prisons are heavily overcrowded.

I think Russian prisons are for pampered cream puffs compared to "labor reeducation" camps in China. Don't forget you can do 10 years there for petty theft, and in between being physically raped by prisoners, you are intellectually raped by communist ideological indoctrination that even communists don't believe in anymore.

I cannot comment on China's prisons for lack of data regarding them. That said, I expect no more compassion from the chinese than the russians (russia created them practically) Smile
