How are you voting in the EU referendum?
RE: How are you voting in the EU referendum?
Fuck if this isn't a perfect foreshadowing of a Trump election.

This shit is real, people.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I'll be closely watching the Black Friday threads on housepricecrash.co.uk . They're a great source of information regarding inevitable economic catastrophes way before the mainstream media even catches on to there being a problem.

I don't think that a flat in London is really losing it's value. Even if the whole country goes down the shitter, there will still be demand for London housing.

It's -already- lost 10% of it's value, since last night. The time to sell was then, the time to buy is now.

Yeah, but it's property in one of the major hubs of the world. As long as it's paid, I would hold on to it. London won't turn into Calcutta anytime soon.

Well, no - as far as I know he's still paying the mortgage, and will be doing so for a long while. Sure - he can still hold on to it, even if he decides to leave UK - he can rent it out and pay the mortgage that way. But it still will be a hassle, I imagine. To be fair - I know next to nothing about property market, so I may be completely wrong about this, anyway.

I'd wager that most of the property in london isn;t paid for, and this kind of shit is how you end up upside down on a mortgage.  OFC London isn't going to turn into Calcutta, but many Calcuttas are likely going to turn into London in the time it takes for London to recover.  So, if one was interested in buying or leveraging a property -as an investment- their capital is put to best use elsewhere.  Which is why the world is dumping their shares in Britain, at present.

I don't think that you appreciate quite what kind of a housing bubble has been in effect in the UK since 2001, how successive governments have bankrupted the country to prop it up and quite how overpriced it is in London.

This time it really was different. The bubble has been the biggest in history.

I don't know anything about it either. But common sense says London's property value won't plumet. It's not Detroit or some other boomtown that goes down as soon as the industry is removed.

Detroit felt the same way. Londons industry was EU trade and investment..........

A mortgage could backfire, that's for sure. Even more so, since we will see some serious banker panic within the next few hours or days.
