Poll: video or text?

I'm just curious about how people like to get their information.  I'm wondering if I'm seeing a generational shift.  Me, I'm an old lady. (over 50, still a ways from 60) When I want information, I want it in text format. Videos infuriate me.  For the most part, I refuse to watch them. I often search for music on YouTube, and then play the video with the window minimized - - why the hell would I want to WATCH it?  I like audio books, but only when I'm driving. But I find that a lot of the younger folks that I know prefer video. 
   So what's your preference?  And do you think that your age is a factor in your selection?

I'm 26 and I like text because I can read it on my own time, don't need headphones/ somewhere quiet, it is private to read instead of if I don't have headphones and have to watch it with others around, and stupid ads usually accompany the articles. Most of the time if there is a video I skip it or look further down to read the text.

Depends on the subject. Some things are easier to explain visually, so a video is preferable. But things like news I prefer to read.

Thanks folks. We have some other readers here. I'm just amazed by how many videos I see posted everywhere, and I'm often frustrated by many that don't come with a transcript. (Reading is so much faster than watching the video.) I was expecting folks under 30 to vote for video, but apparently not!

Text. I typically ignore the content when I link through and find a video or podcast. For me, It's about efficiency being able to read faster than someone else can talk.

I sometimes don't mind listicles when fact finding, but loathe when I click through and discover some idiot decides to place list elements on separate pages to generate more page hits for their site. For this reason I will never click through to certain sites, Bleacher Repoert being one of them.

Anyway, I love audio books before I go to sleep.
Not so much audio books but scary stories or creepy pastas.
Helps me to dream strange, which I like.
