Rythym nailed it, doesn't matter if it's a dumb-ass and dangerous alteration or a true swap of the bolt carrier to actuate the sear when the select lever is in the auto/burst position. What matters is doing either without an FFL is fuck-all illegal. I'd like to think the bad apples can't spoil it for the rest of us, but stereotyping is big these days.

Right, and it would be beyond the pale if what you thought you saw was not a factual representation of reality. That -never- happens.
 Did you call the cops...after what you saw? Why not? Did you suggest that he surrender his illegally modified firearm to the proper authorities? Why not?

You've obviously got the internet, look it up? I mean c'mon, there's a dangerous and illegal assault weapon out there, in circulation, that you're aware of..and it can only be a matter of time until it decides to shoot 50 people or some-such.

Let's use the internet to check, shall we.....? Nope...looks like they've had severe restrictions on automatic weapons for as long as we have.....roundabouts a century.
So, to recap...a clearly bullshit story regarding an un-named persons possession of a modified AR from 1972, in a foreign country......is somehow informative with regards to the subject of this thread...which is our law, today? WTF?
