He said he would issue shoot-to-kill orders to the security services and offer them bounties for the bodies of drug dealers. He also urged ordinary Filipinos to kill suspected criminals.

During the campaign, Duterte said 100,000 people would die in his crackdown, with so many dead bodies dumped in Manila Bay that fish there would grow fat from feeding on them.

I guess it really depends on what you are basing it off of. What standard do would you use to judge how well off someone is? I'd have to know that before even being able to answer the question. Many third world countries actually report a higher level of happiness. If you are going standard of living though, Filipinos in the US by a wide wide margin. The Philippians has one of the highest rates of emigration in the world and the US has one of the highest rights of immigration in the world. It tells you something. Most third world countries have poverty that people in the first world can't even imagine in terms of scale and level of poverty. Poverty in the US isn't even remotely the same thing as poverty in the Philippians.

P.S. Filipino with a F when talking about the people there and Philippians with a ph when talking about the country. Don't ask me why, it doesn't make any sense to me either.

You know you do that rather a lot. As for being well off enough to live a decent life, your average Filipino American exceeds the median standard of living in the US. From wikipedia:

Though I think claims should be backed up with evidence, I'm pretty amazed that people would think that your average Filipino in the Philippians could possibly be better of then in the USA or other first world countries. Have you ever been to the third world for anything other then a first world style vacation?

Now I've given you what data there is, which clearly shows I was right. At least about economic matters. There is no data that can be given about how well people fit into particular societies. Although I can tell you there are Filipino neighborhoods and little manilas all over the west coast. So while no data can be given on that, I assume that they fit in just fine.
