Hammy, glitches happen. They just do. Too many variables.
While you've got nothing worth saving, now would be a good time to do a fresh install somehow. You know, there's a chance just reloading windows again might be beyond you? (do you have media? Can you get? It must be identical version) bla bla. I'd confirm that before letting Linux wipe out. Just trying to save you heartache further down the track considering your finances. If I was you, I'd let all the updates install and then install Win10. (much better) You might be able to do it through Windows update.

All of that SC. Hammy will need to get to know how to access boot media on bootup (key press on boot or enter bios, etc)
Is Hammy up to that? I don't know. It's all these little thing we take for granted! I learnt never to assume anything from anyone in my IT days. One user said his home monitor isn't working. I said yeah, bring it in to work, I'll have a look. He brought it in. It was fine. His home computer was fucked! lol.

I wouldn't uninstall Windows if I installed Linux. So I can't fuck windows with Linux right?
I am gonna try and get Windows 10 and see how that goes first.
Guys, do they still use grub?
Dual boot should work ok if you have the room. It's not an overly big hd, plan ahead when repartitioning. Try running a vm version poca or others recommend first. 100% safe.

Is Linux Mint a VM version?
Poca will take over from here... I think his lunchtime is over...!

A VM version solves nothing if I'm running it in Windows though... because updates can still force themselves on me.
