NO. That's the wrong definition of the word 'deny'. You are using it to mean the non acceptance of something being offered whilst Napoleon is using it to mean his personal rejection of a claim that is being made.

I disagree, the difference between the universe being intended to exist or not is a pretty big one.

Most of my ontological concerns about 'personal theism' are equally applicable to deism.

A personal rejection requires some thing to reject. Two types of atheism: denial and abstinance. Denial is a claim.

There is not a requirement to understand something to deny something. Again you seem to be making up your own definitions.

The fact that i have given you definitions on what deny means should be sufficient.

The fact that none of these definitions says that you need to understand it, would logically suggest, THAT YOU DON'T NEED TO UNDERSTAND IT.

Firstly, it is not true that you need understand something to deny it. YECs deny evolution and yet they do not understand it beyond their dogmatic characterizations.

Secondly, Why not tell him in your own words what god is before you claim that he does not understand?
