Bin Laden's Denial of 9/11
#31
RE: Bin Laden's Denial of 9/11
We've been through the conspiracy theories in depth on this forum before Ryaan. I concluded from the sidelines that there wasn't so much too them. I do think America had a great vested interest in going to war, and I think that was milked for all it was worth by the US government. They got to wipe out 3 times the number of people taken out in revenge with the public finding that morally acceptable. All the killing does on either side is incite more killing.

I kudos you for facing the wrath of your opinions none the less.

Far more than a multiple of 3, Frods.

However, suggesting that Rayaan is wrong that Bush orchestrated this thing does not mean that he did not cynically attempt to benefit from it.

As Doonesbury pointed out in a strip from November of 2001.

Quote:Osama Bin Laden's death is being celebrated, and everyone seems to repeat the old conspiracy theory that he was indeed the mastermind behind the terror attacks of 9/11. But that was never proven, and there is not even evidence hinting at such a connection according to the FBI. It is very well possible that completely different organizations than al-Qaeda were responsible for the planning and execution of 9/11, and that the latter was merely one of the involved parties.

You answered your own question . . .

Quote:Bin Laden also states that he was living in Afghanistan at the time of the attacks and that "I have held talks with His Eminence Amir ol-Momenin [Taleban leader Mola Mohammad Omar Mojahed], who does not allow such acts to be carried out from Afghanistan's territory."

A possible reason is that he didn't want to rock the boat. Later, it didn't matter if he pissed off Mola man.

Well that statement only supports that Bin Laden didn't do it.

If you think that he did claim responsibility for 9/11, however, then you would have to find an evidence for this to prove that what he said initially is not true.

You asked for a reason why he would lie. I gave you one. If you are truly looking for answers, you will ponder it. I don't think that is the case, though. I think you like the idea of a guilty United States, so you are running with it.

Essentially, the statement that "The Taleban leader does not allow such acts to be carried out from Afghanistan's territory" does not mean that "I did plan the attack even though I'm not allowed to do that." I don't see how the first statement implies that he lied about it.

Also, I should mention that there have been "recordings" of him saying that he admits doing it, but the audio tapes are very poor in quality, and therefore the voice may have been easily spliced or computer-generated by the CIA to imitate the voice of Bin Laden as best as possible. See this.

Without being to crass about it, Rayaan, does your religion have any reason why you are so vigorously defending Osama bin laden? In the same way you always seem to be the first here to defend or excuse violent acts such as stonings, that are acted out in the name of Islam.
